Obligatory First Post and Day's Prompt

So, I figure this way I can add a link to my prompts on twitter and give examples for my prompts. Might be helpful.

Hello and welcome to my writing prompt blog where I not only GIVE my writing prompts, but I give an example that I've done with them.

Today's prompt:

So, Here is my expansion:

A grey tabby kitten was curled up under a tree during the hot summer day, happy to have some shade. A slight rustling occurred above and she sleepily raised her eyes to the scene above. A baby bird was quabbling with another on the side of it's nest. The tabby watched as the bird's mother swooped down and separated the two of them, making little tut tut sounds and giving them some food.

The tabby looked towards the ground and began watching a shadow that kept moving. It was moving closer and closer in little circles. The kitten started to stretch and then get it's back ready to arch, in case the thing move nearer. The tree blocked the shadow from being shown on the ground. The cat cocked it's ear to the side, listening.

Then it happened. A gigantic bird flew down into the trees, scooping up the momma bird for lunch. It came down low enough for the tabby to get a good look. Without a second thought the kitten leapt up and scratched at the wings and talons of the giant bird, who let go of its prey in shock.

The kitten knew it was no match for the golden-eyed warrior so it quickly scooped up the mother in it's mouth and found a place to hide under the roots on the tree. Luckily for her, the bird spotted a field mouse trying to move towards a hole. The merciless raptor grabbed its lunch and headed out.

Worried, the little tabby carefully took the bird in it's mouth and brought it to the two-leggeds home where she resided. She leapt up to the table in the center of the room where the family normally gathers and set the bird down. She then went to find her mother, who was purring contently as she was being brushed by one of the long haired giants.

She mewed endlessly until the person put down her mother and followed her out into the living room. The bird was trying to work its wing but it appeared broken. The human shrieked. "Oh my god! Is it okay? It needs veterinary care!" In the meantime, the kitten started mewing at its mother, explaining that there were two babies in a nest outside.

The mother knew what to do. She quickly grabbed the mother bird in her jaws before the human could pick it up and ran to the door, waiting for the human to catch up. The human shrieked again. "Jessie?!? What are you doing?!? Put that poor thing down!" She got to the door and Jessie ran through the doggy door towards the tree her kitten had been laying at. She set the bird down and stared upwards at the mess.

The baby birds were doing their work, squeeling and squeaking with zeal. The human looked up towards the tree. "Oh god! I need to call this in right away!" She went back inside as the cats guarded the nest.
